US immigration officers have arrested a Palestinian graduate student involved in pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University in New York, according to the university’s student workers’ union, reported Reuters. Mahmoud Khalil, a student at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, was detained by the US Department of Homeland Security at his university residence on Saturday, the Student Workers of Columbia union said in a statement.
